Tinkering
Wednesday, April 12, 2006, 05:11 PM - Tinkering
Wow, I'm down to T minus 2 weeks already. TC got rebellious the other day and the fuel sender went out suddenly. I tend to run out of gas even with the gauge working, so $70 later I have a replacement from BJ's Offroad installed and I'm road testing it now.

I got tired of screaming in terror when driving on curvy roads, so I adjusted the steering box. Does that mean I'm getting old and losing my sense of adventure? What else, playing with timing, putting off resealing the oil pan, and planning trips to Discount Tire for tire rotation, a local lube shop for coolant flush, and an exhaust shop to see if my catalytic converter is plugged.

Moab 2006 approaches...
Saturday, April 1, 2006, 02:59 AM - Adventures
Finally the blog is back... maybe it will stay here, nice and happy, for awhile.

Moab. April 27-30, 2006. It's time for another crazy adventure with those FSJ types out in the beautiful red slickrock wheeling mecca. The plan: drive out the 27th or 28th, camp the whole time at Sand Flats (or wherever) and wheel and try not to break anything too badly.

So let's take stock. How close am I to being ready? Most of the noteworthy carnage from last year is taken care of. OBA is finally complete with front ARB plumbed and wired. Oil sender leak is less troublesome than it was. Still a handful of repair tasks, like re-doiing the P/S shaft seal. There's a lot to get done, most of it important, but no show-stoppers. So that's where we stand at T minus 26 days...
