Getting ready
Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 08:12 AM - Tinkering
Happy Halloween! I did an overdue and super speedy oil change on TC in the driveway today after finding a compatible filter on the shelf and 5 qt. of 10W40 motor oil.

It's a rare treat to do work on the truck without a trip to the parts store. The weather was good, my work calendar was free (I work from home, flex hours, etc) so I figured, why not get it done now?

So the truck should be a-ok for the drive down to Buena Vista for 3rd rifle season and, hopefully, for a trip back loaded down with an elk ready to be converted into delectable sausages, steaks, and hamburgers.

I started to make room for said cargo and will continue removing some of the less critical spare parts boxes until I'm left with a reasonable minimum of the more critical items. I'll start loading gear tomorrow. I have the majority of my gear & clothes packed and ready to go. Just a couple more days and I'll be in the mountains. Can't wait!
